Let’s Run Girls LTD Equality and Diversity Policy
Aims
Our mission at Let’s Run Girls is to inspire women to lead healthier, happier and more connected lives. We aim to improve the physical, mental and social wellbeing of the women in our communities through the provision of activity opportunities, led by trained volunteers and instructors. We acknowledge that women are less likely to be physically active than men and can face additional barriers to becoming more active. We acknowledge that women can and do benefit from access to exercise in a women-only environment. We aim to treat all our community members equally, regardless of their age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
When we refer to members of the Let’s Run Girls community, we mean to include all employees, volunteers and participants in our activities and groups.
Code of Practice
Let’s Run Girls provides opportunities for women aged 18 and over to take part in activities to improve wellbeing.
Let’s Run Girls will take action to ensure that group activities and events are open and welcoming to everybody eligible to join.
We encourage and support all our community members equally to access training and volunteering opportunities.
Let’s Run Girls will make this policy available to all our community members. All volunteers and employees in particular will be asked for their support to comply with and implement this policy.
Any community member who has experienced discrimination can raise a complaint with the Directors of Let’s Run Girls.
Code of Conduct
All our community members will be treated with dignity and respect regardless of race, nationality, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, disability and/or age.
At all times people’s feelings will be valued and respected. Language or humour that people find offensive will not be used, e.g. sexist or racist jokes or terminology which is derogatory to someone with a disability.
No one will be harassed, abused or intimidated on the grounds of race, nationality, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, disability or age. Incidents of harassment and/or discrimination will be taken seriously.
Dealing with Complaints
Directors of Let’s Run Girls will take any complaints of discrimination and harassment very seriously.
They will investigate complaints thoroughly and provide opportunities for the person making the complaint to speak in a safe environment about their experience.
If the complaint is against a particular individual, the Directors will seek to hear their point of view.
The Directors will decide the action to take based on the principle of ensuring the continued inclusion and safety of any community member who has experienced discrimination or harassment.
